The Australian can sponsor their partners initially for a provisional visa leading over the time to permanent visas. Depending upon the visa eligibility, they can apply for either of the visa streams:
Subclass 300 is for the applicants who are intended to marry. The marriage can take place within or outside of Australia, but the marriage should happen only after the grant of the visa subclass. It is a temporary visa, and the applicants are eligible to apply for the onshore partner visa after the marriage.
Subclass 309/100 is an offshore partner visa. It is a two-step application process, and the applicants are eligible to apply for this visa subclass if they are either married or in a de facto relationship for 12 months. Applicants are eligible to apply for the subclass 100, once they completed the three years of the living together.
Subclass 820/801 is an onshore partner visa. It is a two-step application process, and the applicants are eligible to apply for this visa subclass if they are either married or in a de facto relationship for 12 months. Applicants are eligible to apply for the subclass 801, once they clived together for a three years or more.
